CEO & Founder
Gaj has hands-on experience facilitating communities and doctors to create better health care. He has medical specialist qualifications as a General Paediatrician and Paediatric Rehabilitation Physician, and holds a Masters of Business Administration.
Over the last 5 years, Gaj has been involved in multiple projects crossing health and business in the not-for-profit, philanthropic, public and private sectors. The XSTITCH© model of care combines the best of all systems.

Chief Operating Officer
Sarah is a leader in the community services sector with expertise in governance, compliance, risk management and quality assurance frameworks. She has experience supporting organisations to provide safe and quality services. Underpinning her work is the belief in robust monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure fair and inclusive service provision and to strengthen capacity for innovation.
Sarah is passionate about services which promote person-centred work and social justice. She has qualifications in human services, justice and more recently a Master in Professional Accounting.

Board director
Jo is the Head of Knowledge and Performance at yourtown, a nationwide charity that supports young people to tackle issues like unemployment and mental health. She designs and evaluates services based on consumer voices, best practice and data. Previously, she was the Divisional Director of Child & Youth Community Health Services at Children’s Health Queensland and has over 25 years’ experience in health, child safety and community environments.
Jo has an honours degree in Social Work and an Executive MBA. She is passionate about improving the journey of people with complex needs by addressing the social determinants that lead to inequities.

Board Director
Christine is a marketing and communications leader with a background in major events, brand strategy, and community engagement across Australia’s sport industry. She has held roles with organisations such as Tennis Queensland, Visit Victoria, Supercars, and the World Surf League, where she has led initiatives to drive revenue, grow participation, strengthen partnerships, and connect meaningfully with diverse communities.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts and an MBA, and is passionate about applying strategic, purpose-led thinking to create impact. She brings a fresh perspective to health and is committed to supporting innovation that improves equity and outcomes.

WA Operations Director
Dr Smith brings a unique combination of medical, anthropological and public health expertise to healthcare delivery. She holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Western Australia and is currently completing a Master of Public Health at Monash University.
Over the past several years, Dr Smith has developed extensive experience working with diverse communities across Australia and internationally. Her work spans paediatric medicine, cultural competency, and program development with particular expertise in the Kimberley region of Western Australia where she lived and worked for 1.5 years. The Xstitch model leverages her comprehensive understanding of community-based healthcare approaches.

Project Officer
Dr Dan Caines is a General Practitioner and health business owner is regional Queensland. He co-leads multiple healthcare ventures, focussing on structured care coordination, systems design, and continuous quality improvement, delivered through multidisciplinary community collaboration.
Dan is passionate about embedding practical systems that amplify the patient voice and bridge the provision of healthcare with sustainable business, without compromising personalised, patient-centred care.

Consumer Advisor
Dave’s life had a change in direction after a severe accident. He spent many weeks away from home and is now back at work in remote far north QLD. The experience created a strong desire to amplify the patient’s voice within our health system. Living in a remote community with a permanent injury has its challenges, and Dave looks at the world with a “learn to adapt” mentality.

Project Officer
James is a rehabilitation doctor working across the community and hospital, with expertise in neurological, musculoskeletal and disability care. His experience spanning clinical medicine, national training and governance, and scientific research supports stronger connections between the health and disability sectors to improve multidisciplinary care coordination, equity and service design.

Advisor
Dave is a pharmacist and the operator of a Brisbane-based homeless accommodation service. With coalface experience in both primary care and the social sector, Dave's skills are a natural fit with Xstitch Health. He assists in forging partnerships and enhancing services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
